Season of Discovery Phase 4 will be launched soon. From July 11th, it will bring a plethora of new content, raise the max level to 60, and set players on another leveling journey. While waiting for the release, players can engage in interesting activities. Completing a hidden questline to obtain the amazing Rainbow Generator trinket is just one of them. This trinket creates a large rainbow bridge between players, allowing them to walk across it for a short duration.
Aside from its fun effect, this trinket will be useful for leveling in Phase 4. Players who complete the hidden questline to obtain the Rainbow Generator trinket also receive two additional items: three Student Fodder consumables and Premo’s Poise-Demanding Uniform. The latter is a cosmetic shirt, while the former can be used to gain 20% Rested XP instantly. Save the Student Fodder for Phase 4 when the leveling journey from 50 to 60 becomes significantly longer – around two last levels will be an ideal time to use it. If you haven’t obtained the Rainbow Generator trinket yet, keep reading the guide. In this post, we will explain all the steps you need to take in order to complete the questline.
Step #1: Enter Blackrock Depths and Find the Lava Bridge in Shadowforge City
The first thing you need to do is get more Season of Discovery gold so that you can buy Noggenfogger’s elixirs. Next, get together a skilled group that can make it through Black Mountain’s depths without dying. The party will have to start over if any players die while trying to get the Rainbow Generator trinket.
Open the locked gate when you get to Blackrock Depths. Move forward, and then open the right-hand second locked gate. Go up the hall with the steps and open the left wall door that is locked. As you go up the stairs, turn right, and keep going up into the Ring. On the other side of the Ring of Law, enter the hall and turn left.
Far away, you should be able to see a bridge over lava. On the bridge, there is a small ledge below with a green name that sticks out of an opening. You need to jump down safely and talk to the NPC.
The rest of the Rainbow Generator item quest is mostly a long game where you have to jump. If someone fails to jump and dies during this step, you’ll have to start over from the outside of the cave. First, go to the left side of the bridge at the far end. Just around the corner, you should be able to see a roof that you can jump to, drink your Noggenfogger Elixir, and then jump across.
Make sure you back up a few times and get in the right position before you jump. Though the jump isn’t too hard, if you do it too far to the right, you’ll hit some rocks and lose your speed. Once you’ve jumped to the other roof, keep moving forward while following the wall on the right. Look down and around. The rock you saw earlier should be almost right below you.
You can jump down here if you aim well, but it’s safer to jump from the far side onto the wall and then drink the Noggenfogger Elixir right before you land to make sure you don’t go off the platform.
Step #3: Interact with the Rugged Traveller Once He Appears
You’ve made it to the bottom of the Rainbow Generator quest, which is a big accomplishment so far. Now all you need to do is talk to an NPC. After the last jump, go into the room to find an NPC called Rugged Traveller.
More than two people in the room at once can “scare” the Rugged Traveller and stop him from talking. According to the patch notes, the Rugged Traveller will leave the room if more than two people enter. Thus, to ensure that the Rainbow Generator SoD mission is finished, send only two members of your group down the last leap at a time.
Conclusion
World of Warcraft has always excelled at engaging players, and this guide proves that once again. Even during quieter times, players can immerse themselves in diverse activities. They can complete the hidden questline in Blackrock Depths to obtain the Rainbow Generator. Moreover, tackling this challenging quest not only promises fun but also will aid in leveling up faster during the upcoming Phase 4 of WoW SoD.
