News from India Today: In a heartwrenching incident, 16 migrant workers were run over by a good train while sleeping on the railway tracks near Aurangabad in Maharashtra on Friday. The incident, which took place on at 5.15 am, woke the nation up to the perils migrants workers face while attempting to get back home during the nationwide lockdown.
The workers were trying to walk from Jalna to Bhusawal in Maharashtra, hoping to catch a train from Aurangabad to get back to their homes in Madhya Pradesh. They had been rendered jobless due to the coronavirus-enforced lockdown and were desperate to go to their native places. But they died around 30 km before Aurangabad.
