(April 17, 2024) Award-winning actor and novelist Luke Arnold, known for his role in the Emmy-winning Black Sails, teams up with Emmy-nominated writer Chris “Doc” Wyatt (Rocket and Groot) to co-write a groundbreaking graphic novel titled “ESSENTIALS.” This ambitious 140-page sci-fi epic marks the debut release from THE LAB PRESS, a new graphic novel publisher founded by CEO Nicholas Kalikow.
Set to launch this spring on Kickstarter, “ESSENTIALS” promises an unparalleled storytelling experience with its stellar lineup of artists, including DaNi, Glenn Fabry, Jason Howard, Vince Locke, Brendan McCarthy, Andrea Mutti, M.K. Perker, and the legendary Bill Sienkiewicz.

In “ESSENTIALS,” mathematician Harris Pax finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world after failing to prevent the world’s end. Accompanied by his niece’s talking toys, Pax embarks on a journey to restore reality and save humanity from an interdimensional nemesis known as Snuggles.
Luke Arnold shared his thoughts on the project: “We wanted to tell a story that could only be fully realized in this medium, and this incredible team has taken it beyond our wildest dreams.”
Each artist brings a unique perspective to “ESSENTIALS,” with Vince Locke depicting a zombie apocalypse, Andrea Mutti exploring tragedy in outer space, and Glenn Fabry unveiling the eerie world of a collector of classical art.
