On Wednesday, 13 April 2016 starting at 19:40 pm in the foyer of the Small Hall V. Lisinski Concert Hall (Zagreb) caricature exhibition MIKS-Jazz.hr opened the 25th Festival Jazz.hr/proljeće. The brief opening statement before the 200-tnjak guests keep ssu Davor Hrvoj, artistic director of the jazz event Croatian Composers Society and Nenad Ostojic, President of the International Association of MIKS.
The exhibition presents about 50 works selected on the subject of jazz, from the collection of associations MIKS. Among the selected works are works of world masters cartoons like Andrei Popov (Russia), Oleksy Kustovskog (Ukraine), Paola Dalpontea (Italy), Marie Picasso (Spain), Walter Toscano (Chile), Gustavo Cere (Argentina), Ivailo Tsvetkov (Bulgaria) and others.
The exhibition will be 13 to 16 April 2016 in the entrance of Small hall Lisinski in Zagreb.
Jazz and cartoons speak all the languages of the world without saying a word.
Official (music) part of the festival opened its concert pianist Joachim Kühn is one of the most important musicians in the history of European jazz. His approach is characterized by vigor, and sensibility, virtuoso technique and imagination and a great sense of dynamics. With his trio, which was founded in 1964, was one of the first German artists who were active in the field of free-jazz. During more than half a century of his career, he has performed with leading jazz musicians such as Ornette Coleman, Archie Shepp, Jimmy Garrison, Joe Henderson, Don Cherry and Phil Woods. As a versatile musician played and fusion. And in this context achieved cooperation with important representatives of the genre, among others with Billy Cobham, Michael Brecker, Jean-Luc Ponty, Larry Coryell and Alphonse Mouzon. For years he lived and worked in Paris, where he achieved particularly valuable works in a trio with renowned musicians of contemporary jazz: French bassist Jean-François Jenny-Clark and Swiss drummer Daniel Humair. It is appreciated as an artist who performed and recorded solo. In this context, in which his inventiveness comes to the fore, and in which he recorded a dozen albums.
