Donald Trump Military Budget
During his presidency, Donald Trump proposed and signed into law several military budgets. In 2018, he signed a budget that allocated $700 billion for the Department of Defense, which was an increase from the previous year’s budget. The following year, he signed a budget that allocated $716 billion for defense spending. Trump often touted his support for the military and his desire to strengthen the armed forces. However, his budgets were not without controversy, as some criticized the high level of spending and questioned the priorities of the military.
