Tembo Muhindo Kashauri, who uses the artist name Tembo Kash, was born in Butembu, Congo in 1965. He studied Plastic Arts and graduated in 1993. He started his career as a comic artist in 1989, when he won a prize in a comic contest. Since 1990, he works as an illustrator, graphic designer and comic artist for several organizations and publications, such as Afro BD, Le Phare and Africanissimo. Between 1993 and 1996 he was the artistic director of advertising agency R.G. Creatifs Associés. He has also contributed to ‘A L’Ombre du Baobab’, a collection of comics by African artists about education and health in Africa, for which he created the story ‘Tabou sur table’.
